[Community Spotlight] - Blast Ryoku -

Hello everyone!
I'm Blastryoku and I write and draw the webcomic called curse lineage.

I was born in south America in a little town called Liborina.
There was never much to do so I would draw in the afternoon.
My first comic was a hero comic called Fusionman.

We were a family of 4 pretty close so when my older brother finished high school and wanted to start university, we moved to the city.
This is where I got to know manga and started planning and developing my webcomic: Curse Lineage.

It's also where I finish my studies on graphic design but the situation is pretty difficult so I have to look for every job opportunity that comes my way.

At the moment I'm continuing my work on Curse Lineage while planning another story so stay tuned.

If you want to contact me, you can find me on these places.

[Community Spotlight] - Steve Myers - [Skooba]

My name is Steve Myers but let’s be real, how basic, right?? So my friends call me Scuba.

Being a 90s kid, you have to misspell everything and make it cooler.  So if you see me around the internet or at conventions, most likely you’ll see my art signed ‘Skooba’.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle!!
(Told ya, 90s kid…) Let’s get down to brass tax.
I was asked if I’d do an interview with this lovely site and of course I couldn’t pass up.

So beyond being a rambling nerd, what else is there about me?? Well..um… oh wow…good question…existential moment here…. *cough*

I grew up in Missouri and was drawing from a young age.
Pulling my first all nighters at grandma’s house in order to finish my comics before the next morning so I could present them with pride at breakfast.
That passion waned a bit as I discovered my first anime (Dragonball Z, duh!) at a young age and fell in love with animation more so than comics…until (dramatic music) BATTLE CHASERS! Yes!
That book was my golden ticket, my muse, for years to come, to show me what could be done in comics and what I wish to achieve some day as well!
So with a fury, I was quickly back into the game.

However, it was many years of struggle and burger flipping before I even landed my first comic job. A few years ago I was approached by Deon Brown to be the lead penciller on his comic story, Battle for Ozellberg (www.ozellberg.com) and it was a huge honor.
I worked with an amazing team, Jeff Morrow, Chris Chandler, Deon himself, and Licca Kirk to pump out the 3 issue mini series retelling of Little Red Riding Hood…but with a twist!
(c’mon, I can’t give it all away to you here, head on over to indyplanet.com and see for yourself!)

From there I bounced around with a few freelances jobs, nothing really set in stone until finally landing with a company called Inbeon Studios. (www.inbeon.com) Currently I’m pencilling and inking on an epic fantasy story called ‘Zaidura Chronicles’ created by CJ Martin. It’s been a blast so far, and really hoping you’ll all join us on the journey!!

I could tell you about my story all day, but let’s be real..you’re all here for the art, right?!
Yeeeeeah, I know what you’re all about you saucy little thang, you!!! So without further ado, please, follow me at the links below if you like what you see. I love all the support and love hearing from you and seeing you all at conventions especially where I can take your hard earned money— I mean uh…. where I can shake your hands and appreciate your company!! (Yeah….that’s it….)

But really, follow me at the links below and let’s get to know each other!
I’ve got a long ways to go still and would love you all to be on that journey with me!
If you’d like to financially support me with a buck or two, it would mean the world and I can be found at:

Hisame Artwork

Hi everyone! I'm the artist behind the educational comics and games "Niels Feynman' and "Ernest the blue bunny".
https://society6.com/product/ernest--love-coffe_pillow#25=193&18=126

I was asked by the awesome wonder mommy Keirani Gallant to give you some insight into how I became a graphic artists so here we go!

https://society6.com/product/ernest--loves-coraline_pillow#25=193&18=126I was born and raised in East Europe and despite the wars, dictatorships and  economic meltdowns I have doctors, engineers and artists in my family who nurtured my love of learning.  My grandfather was a writer and editor of the national publishing house so I grew up with atlases he worked on and my parents encouraged my curiosity and education. They worked a lot so many hours I spent alone coloring and watching  cartoons and documentaries.

I finished school and got degrees in International Marketing from the Academy of Economic Studies and a degree in Multimedia from the National University of Theatrical and Cinematographic Arts and I went on to work in advertising and shovelware games because it payed the bills and I like eating. Occasionally I would get to work on an educational feature film animation or video game, but the pay was sad.

My husband was the one that encouraged me to do what I like and helped me start my business last year. He is a nuclear physicist  and a gamer and the most awesome person you'll ever meet!

I have created :
- a science themed calendar
- a comic book series about time traveling
- a farming and economy themed board game and,
- a collectible sticker booklet to help kids learn about the history and geography of the United States of America.

At the moment I'm working on a video game and I plan to make a booklet with the European Union like I did for the US! I always try to find new ways to make learning fun  and  awesome people like the ones behind SciShow and CGP Grey , Kurzgesagt , Awkward Yeti and Skallagrim are a constant inspiration.

I'm always happy to answer  questions and to help  so you can find me here:

- Celebrating Entrepreneurs - building castles in the sky

Hey there everyone!
We've been missing the lot of you while we were away on our break.

Originally this project was created in the hopes to aid others on their own journeys through financial self sufficiency and since our hiatus, it has been unfortunate to see economic issues that have had lot of people stressed due to dependency.
While the global economy may be facing (a man made) downward plunge (and can be repaired)
We have been fortunately to have met so many who have regained their power in creating their own sustainable employment and currency through trade.

Many people have become beacons of hope to their communities,
Inspiring people who have taken the power of job creation, or societal problem solving in their own hands.  Some still choose to continue to wait for government to "create jobs" or  "solve problems" but by relying on these systems we can create potential harm.
(such as the current oil job situation in Canada for example)

~*~
In choosing not to learn our own capability to be self sustainable many of us miss our opportunity to discover our very own power to create infinite opportunities for ourselves.
We are fortunate to live in such a time when technology and the internet exist.
They have granted new opportunity and given us new perspective as we have become a global community.
In celebration of the Renaissance of entrepreneurship:
We will be sharing and introducing some truly creative and inspirational individuals who are carving their own path using their talents.
Follow your passion, and enjoy your talents.
In the age of abundance we all have equal opportunity to succeed.

~*~

Beginning this Friday
we shall be sharing a community spotlight's and celebrating global entrepreneurs and their work.

How people make money online - [website's and blogging and youtube]

I have mentioned this before, but never really elaborated on how blogging and such works.

Truthfully I will admit I am a new blogger, and do not make very much .
(about 10$ as I have not been updating/promoting my work as regularly as I should)
the #1 free tool to get started: Google add sense

(I have been learning to do this from a 0$ point as I have not had much money to invest in my own website.)

Per page view ~ add's on your website/blog/ will pay for views should you have affiliates set up to do this for you.

A free service available to all is Google Addsense:
(blogger account must be open and active for at least 6 monthes before being able to qualify for it)

Add sense can be set up for ones whole google account (youtube as well)

all of these systems work the  SAME way.
Add revenue is based on website [views] ~ So while great, you may now realize some websites you may have seen that have exploited us on this system.

I have seen people have abused this knowledge who have money to do so~

Example: My new favorite social media site Tsu.co opened up back in October (it's still growing)

Top google results brings up some young girls personal blog that quite shamelesly discredits the site.

She clearly has the funds to set up a beautiful blog, but also discusses why Tsu is not as usefull for making money as building your own website.

then continues to plug her "all female" social media site/

There you have it!

I have met many sucessful bloggers, who have spoken about value in their content.
Its the value that keeps people coming back or sharing their pages.

So the idea is to blog about things that are useful, and have value so your site grows itself.

~Even person has their own talents and preferences~

The idea is to tap into your talents, and learn to see your own opportunities that are always all around you.

Some people as they become more known receive sponsorship offers:
This wonderful mother/youtuber/blogger is a great example of using her talents to reach her own sucess.

http://craftygemini.com/

She's received several sponsorship you can see on her site as well as if you watch her youtube video's she sometimes gets new items to review and plug.

Each of our path's is unique, so I can't tell you exactly what you need to do for yourself.

But we can discuss the tools available and share our knowledge and exprience on our own journey.

It takes time, but we all can grow our own success if we work together.

Tutorial - [How to find the right people for your network]

I have had many people ask me this question:
"How do I end up with the people I want on my social media accounts?"

No matter what your 'Niche' is learning to find the right people for your network is relatively simple.
~Keywords are your best friend .~

In this example I'm going to use videogames as my networking niche.

The method is quite similar on most social media platforms.

In this example I am using use both twitter and Tsu and the Hastag (ie-keyword) #games to see the related posts that come up.

[This is also why Tagging your posts with appropriate hashtags is very important to reach your audience.]

One thing people need to do with their own discernment is to review the content of the people they are liking, and reposting, retweeting , friending or following.

*If you like the person's post, you can follow ~ or send a friend request.
(depending on the social media site)

[You hold the power of what is in your network.]
The best way to meet the coolest people is just to jump right in and follow your heart.
Sometimes it brings you some pretty cool places!

~*~
Here's another example on Twitter and Tumblr looking up #nintendo related posts.

That's pretty much it, that simple! :)

Slowly and surely as you post in your related niche, others will find you and you will find them.

Success simply requires effort, patience, and upkeep and teamwork.

~ Thanks for reading~
If you have any questions related to networking please feel free to email me:

Much love!

The Cosmic Soup Networking project- How to set up

Lately a bunch of us have been networking regarding the Cosmic Soup project. ~

The idea is that each of us holds our own creative world and can use the internet to share it by connecting as a community where we promote, share and provide clicks for one anothers pages.

The goal is to grow towards self sustainability. (Like a plant it grows and flowers with time and dedication.)

1. Set up your foundation: (aka your kingdom)

This is the main place you will be updating from.  (blog, website, what ever works best for you.)

I recommend building a main website as your home page. ( I use Wix- as a free service right now)
Particularly if you have multiple projects on the go.

2. Build your digital network.

Really spend some time getting to know how these different websites work as this will be your network of communication.

Much like the different networks in our body this will help bring you to your audience as efficiently as possible.

[A few are done up as tutorials~ the ones that I am missing tutorial wise will be updated asap.]

If you do have a nintendo console and are an artist (3ds/2ds/wiiU)

I highly suggest networking on the nintendo miiverse. (It's full of amazing people)

~

3. Update REGULARLY

This is key to building an audience

For those who are up for joining this project~ Our main page should be up sometime by the end of the week.~

I will be msging you with the art I'm designing for the page to make sure it works for you.
